There will be a ton of teams fighting for their sixth win and bowl eligibility as the regular season wraps up this Saturday. The AAC has two teams sitting at 5-6 in SMU and Tulane. Clemson has won the ACC Atlantic Division, but who they will face in the ACC title game remains up for grabs. However, Pittsburgh took a huge step towards winning the Coastal Division following their 52-22 victory over Virginia Tech. That puts the Panthers at 5-1 in ACC play with only Virginia, at 4-2, providing a serious threat. If there was ever any doubt, Alabama is clearly the best team in the country after their dominating 29-0 win over LSU. It seems very likely that the Crimson Tide will once again meet Clemson in the finals of the playoffs. There will be some teams like Notre Dame and Michigan who will not just be happy to get to the playoffs, if they do, but right now Alabama and Clemson is the matchup that nearly everyone will want to see…again.

The big news in week eight was Purdue’s upset victory over Ohio State. The Buckeyes struggled in the red zone and allowed Purdue to drop 49 points on them. With Michigan’s defensive dominance over rival Michigan State, the Wolverines are now projected to reach the Playoffs.
