Week 7 Football Bowl Projection Breakdown

Oklahoma vs. Texas College Football
CSM Staff
Sat, 10/12/2013

There has not been a lot of movement on the BCS bowls so far this season, but that changed in week seven. With some upsets and a few close calls, the races for the top bowls in college football are getting very interesting. In the Big 12, Oklahoma is no longer the clear cut favorite to reach the Fiesta Bowl. For now, Baylor is our choice. With home games against Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Texas, the Bears schedule could not get much better. The loss by Georgia knocked them out of the BCS, with LSU taking their place in the Sugar Bowl. In the ...

Gambling sharps (the best gamblers around) are right roughly 57% of the time. That figure sounds low to most. But, in fact, it is a high enough figure to make a living off of. The key to being a sharp is not only picking more winners than losers, but also finding the best lines and odds for your bets. An extra half point here, an extra point there makes a huge difference over the course of ...

Week 7 FCS Football Game Breakdowns

The game of the week this week is probably in the CAA where Villanova heads to undefeated Towson. The undefeated Tigers are playing just their third home game of the year and you can bet Unitas Stadium will be rocking for this one. The Villanova defense has been stout after a slow start and the Towson offense is rolling behind running back Terrance West. West rushed for 238 yards and three touchdowns last ...

Last Four In:  Miami (FL), Indiana, Rutgers, LSU

First Four Out: Missouri, Colorado, Ohio State, Clemson

The Miami Hurricanes played their way into the tournament field with a resounding result over Notre Dame in front of a sellout crowd at Cobb Stadium in Coral Gables by a score of 2-0.  The Ohio State Buckeyes are slowly putting their backs against the wall as far as being able to ...

First Four Out: Penn State, Memphis, Marquette, Delaware

Notre Dame made a case for being the top ranked team in the country with a couple big wins last week. The Irish beat Indiana 2-0 on Wednesday, which is not as impressive as it sounds, and won at Clemson 2-1 on Saturday, which, incidentally, is more impressive than it ...

The battle for the second spot in the BCS National Championship game is heating up. And that is taking the huge assumption that Alabama can stay undefeated. In the ACC, Clemson and Florida State are both playing great football and the conference as a whole is much improved. The computers will like that, but it also means there are opportunities for the Tigers and Seminoles to lose. And one of them will lose when the two go at it on October 19th. The Pac-12 also has a couple teams vying for a perfect season. Oregon heads to Stanford on ...

Week 6 FCS Football Game Breakdowns

After a thrilling weekend of FCS football, we have another one on tap in week six. The highlight once again involves North Dakota State. Coming off of their dominating defensive performance against South Dakota State, the Bison host undefeated Northern Iowa. The Panthers have already beaten Iowa State and last week they blew out a good McNeese State squad 41-6. UNI is riding high. But the best way to stop a ...
