Help Us Georgia, You’re Our Only Hope
The only shot we have to avoid an Alabama vs. LSU rematch in the BCS National Championship game is if Georgia can beat the Tigers in the SEC Championship game this week. And even then, we may be stuck with an SEC rematch. Coach Les Miles has had some trouble with the Bulldogs in the past and the game is in Atlanta so the Georgia crowd may have a small impact.
Yet, College Sports Madness is still predicting Alabama to square off against LSU in our latest and daily updated bowl projections. Even if Georgia can pull off a win, would that be enough to keep LSU out of the national title game? Maybe. If Oklahoma State can beat Oklahoma, they should be back in the title game against Alabama. If OSU loses, Virginia Tech and Stanford are next in line. It is hard to believe that LSU would drop past Virginia Tech and Stanford, but at least the Hokies could move up a little if they can beat Clemson handily in the ACC Championship game.
