Week 5 Football Bowl Projection Breakdown

North Carolina nearly shook up the playoff picture, but Clemson managed to beat the Tar Heels 21-20. The Tigers may appear vulnerable now, but there are bound to be some close calls along the way. That left very few upsets in the top 25 this week. Arizona State went to #14 Cal and came away with a surprising win and Oklahoma State knocked off a Kansas State squad that was ranked in some polls. The only other ranked teams that lost came against higher ranked teams. USC fell at Washington and Virginia could not quite the job done at Notre Dame. Without many upsets, there are not too many changes to this week’s bowl projections. Most of the action comes in the Mountain West where 4-1 Wyoming and 4-1 Hawaii both move into the bowl projections.
