Week 4 FCS Football Potential Upsets
Although most of the FBS vs. FCS football match-ups have been played in the 2019 season already, there are still a few decent looking shots for the FCS upset in Week 4. These are potentially great spots to place a wager on an underdog and get multiple returns on your investment. Both of these match-ups involve teams who have already pulled the big upset this season. The first is Southern Illinois. Just two weeks ago, the Salukis left the comfort of Carbondale, Illinois to play at FBS Massachusetts. After a major letdown in their opener, SIU roared to a huge 45-20 victory. Against the Minutemen, Saluki’s quarterback stone Labanowitz threw for 265 yards and four touchdowns. Just as importantly, Southern Illinois did not turn the ball over and intercepted Umass twice. It will take another effort like that on both sides of the ball to beat another FBS team. Arkansas State is a better team than UMass, but they're coming off a reeling 55-0 loss to Georgia. This might be the best time to catch the Red Wolves while they're down and Southern Illinois is really believing in themselves right now.
The other potential FCS upset this week makes a trip to the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Three weeks ago, Central Arkansas opened their season with a trip to nearby FBS Western Kentucky. The Bears left town with a 35-28 victory, notching the FCS' only win in 40 games that weekend thanks to a superb effort from quarterback Breylin smith and wide receiver Lujuan Winningham. Since then, UCA has remained undefeated. Wins over Austin Peay and Abilene Christian leave them sitting at 3-0. This week, playing in Hawai'i will have many more distractions, namely beach side pig roasts and beautiful girls hula dancing.
However, if you wanted to play on a couple of underdogs and make some quick coin with a little luck, you never know. These look like they have the potential to duplicate what they've already done. Give them a glance.
