The Atlantic Coast Conference has been off to a great start as a whole this season. There are currently 11 teams with double digit win totals and there will be a lot of competition for bids out of the league. The Atlantic Division of the conference looks to be incredibly tough this season with the lone two undefeated conference teams in conference play, Louisville and Florida State, as well as a surprising Boston College team that is currently 12-3 and is coming off a series win over NC State. Even the bottom of the conference is playing well. Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh both find themselves near the bottom of the conference in terms of overall winning percentage, but they pushed Miami and North Carolina, respectively, in series last weekend and each won a game. Georgia Tech and Notre Dame were the only teams to drop all three games of the conference-opening weekend, but both have regional caliber ball clubs. Georgia Tech entered the weekend at 12-0 and is still projected in the field, while Notre Dame is 6-8 on the year but has a significant number of returners from last year’s regional team. Watch for the ACC to push for double-digit teams in the tournament this season.
