Lynetta Kizer, Senior, Center, Maryland
Overview:
Ever since 6-4 center Lynetta Kizer stepped foot onto Maryland’s campus in College Park, she has been a rebounding machine. In her first collegiate game ever she pulled in 15 rebounds and ended the year averaging 7.3 per contest. As she has matured, Kizer has seen her rebounding average increase.
But Kizer is more than just a rebounder. Partially due to her ability on the offensive glass, she is also an efficient and effective scorer in the paint. As a freshman she averaged 11.1 points per game and by her sophomore campaign the Terrapins were relying heavily on Kizer’s ability to score in the paint. Kizer can even step outside and hit the mid-range jumper and that will make her quite valuable as a power forward or center at the next level.
Final Projection:
Kizer is quite nimble for a post player and when she is unable to use her strength to get a rebound or get to the basket, she can use her feet. That versatility makes her very difficult to defend or block out. She is not the typical WNBA center, but she could develop into a superb power forward or a backup center who can stretch out the defense at the next level as she has done throughout her collegiate career at Maryland.
