Teams like San Diego State and Saint Louis have been flying a bit under the radar since they lost an early game or two. But come March, their strong finishes will only help the Aztecs and Billikens. San Diego State’s lone loss came against Arizona way back on November 14th. Coach Steve Fisher does still have to play New Mexico twice, but this is a team that could head into the tournament with just one loss. Even if they do stumble at some point in MW play, this team deserves a two seed. We project Saint Louis to lose a couple more times along the way since the A-10 is brutal, but after a 9-0 start, Saint Louis could keep rolling and earn a two or three seed. No matter where the Billikens end up, no team wants to face their stifling defense in the NCAA Tournament.
