Kentavious Caldwell-Pope NBA Draft Profile

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Sophomore, Shooting Guard, Georgia

Overview:

Caldwell-Pope is the top shooter in the 2011 class with range and confidence that are key in his success at the college level and then eventually in the NBA.  Caldwell-Pope's high level of shooting helps his teammates with better looks in all types of defensive sets.

He can also create shots off the dribble and plays a very solid defensive game.  Caldwell-Pope's all-around game is very fundamental, but he still needs to work on attacking the rim and showing he can knock down the mid-range jumper that it takes to stick in the NBA.  He lacks the quickness that many shooting guards possess, but he does have a nice physical build that scouts do like.

Final Projection:

Caldwell-Pope has an NBA game but needs to find a consistent mid-range game and use his deadly deep game to open drives to the rim for easier buckets and free throws.  Shooting is his key, the key that will translate into Caldwell-Pope becoming a complete player at the next level.
