Trevin Wade NFL Draft Profile

Trevin Wade NFL Draft ProfileTrevin Wade, Senior, Cornerback, Arizona

 Overview:

Trevin Wade did not crack the starting lineup as a freshman, but he quickly turned into a big play cornerback. He did not start a game and only tallied a dozen total tackles, but the 5-11 Round Rock, Texas product picked off an impressive four passes. The following year Wade increased his career interception total to nine. He also tallied 71 tackles and defended 14 passes.

Wade was posed to turn into a star as an upperclassman, but he struggled through part of his junior campaign with a thigh injury. He still started 11 games, but his production was down across the board and he ended the year with 47 tackles and one interception. Even when he was healthy, the opposition tended to throw away from Wade, but he also found himself in a pretty good three man cornerback rotation and failed to cement his spot as the team’s premiere corner.

Final Projection:

Wade is a good player who was plenty of speed and strength to play in the NFL. However, if he gets wrapped up in another position battle, he will fly under the NFL’s radar. Robert Golden and Shaquille Richardson could take away some of Wade’s thunder and he will have to emerge as Arizona’s top corner if he hopes to get drafted in the second or third round.
