Ha Ha Clinton-Dix NFL Draft Profile

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix NFL Draft Profile

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Junior, Safety, Alabama

Overview:

Often overshadowed by fellow Crimson Tide defenders, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has one of the most memorable names in college football that has somehow not translated to an increase in his popularity. With an effective game on the field that may finally make the rounds nationally, he is a preseason All-American candidate and possible Thorpe award winner this year. The big men up front get most of the accolades for Alabama and their linebacking corp is rather impressive but the secondary has often made the difference for this team. The leader of that group this season will be Clinton-Dix as he tries to capitalize on a wonderful sophomore campaign.

Final Projection:

First on the team in interceptions in 2012, Ha Ha has been anything but funny to opposing quarterbacks. As a safety, he now sits somewhere in the early to middle rounds of NFL draft boards. Only elite safeties are ever taken in round one; it is simply not a position that teams will reach for. However, a successful junior year for Clinton-Dix and the Tide defense could propel the young man into second round consideration. He should be thought of as one of the best players at his position come draft time.
