Brandon Jenkins NFL Draft Profile

Brandon Jenkins NFL Draft Profile

Brandon Jenkins, Senior, Defensive End, Florida State

Overview:

Brandon Jenkins was a huge part of the success of the Seminole’s defense in 2010. The 6-3 Tallahassee, Florida product was just a sophomore, but he had a breakout season and scouts have been keeping a close eye on him ever since. On the year Jenkins totaled an impressive 21.5 tackles-for-loss and 13.5 sacks. Even as a true freshman Jenkins found himself on the field more and more as the season progressed; particularly in third down situations.

Jenkins is a pure pass rusher. He has enough speed to play as a rushing linebacker in a 3-4 scheme in the NFL and enough strength to stay at an end spot in a 4-3 defense. Either way, Jenkins is a rising star and could end up as a first round draft pick as long as he can keep up his production.

Final Projection:

In the NFL Jenkins will not have as easy of a time getting into the backfield. If he ends up playing on the line, he will need to gain strength. However, Jenkins would ideally add that size without losing his quick first step that has made him so productive in college.
