Last Eight In: West Virginia, Saint Joseph’s, Charlotte, St. John’s, Iowa, Texas Tech, DePaul, Michigan
First Eight Out: Washington, Wyoming, Kansas, Duquesne, Saint Mary’s, Florida Gulf Coast, Ohio State, SMU
The major movement in Thursday’s bracket came from Conference USA where Tulane and Southern Methodist were upset. The Green Wave, who fell to 22-8, had a shot at an at-large bid with a decent run in the tournament. But that came to an end at the hands of Tulsa. SMU, the outright regular season champions, have a decent RPI, but the loss to UCF hurts. We will keep them on the edge of the bubble, but that is mostly due to lack of other options to come in at this point. The NIT looks like where SMU and Tulane will end up. But all of the upsets in Conference USA will make things interesting the rest of the way.
