That was a fun week of basketball. There were opportunities all around the nation for teams to take a huge step towards securing a #1 seed come March. The only teams that really took advantage of those opportunities were Gonzaga and Miami. And it remains to be seen if either of those teams will garner enough respect to end up on the top line of a bracket. When it comes down to it, somebody has to win conferences like the Big Ten and the Big East. Somebody must win the conference tournaments as well and those hot teams may get the nod over a team like Gonzaga, even if they stay at two losses on the season. But the Zags are taking a trip to Saint Mary’s on Thursday night so that may not remain an issue for long.
