Alex Ogletree NFL Draft Profile

Alex Ogletree, Junior, Linebacker, Georgia

Overview:

Georgia’s middle linebacker became a story during the SEC championship against Alabama.  Ogletree was all over the field and, at times, appeared to be the best player out there.  He seemed to out-run everybody to get to the ball carrier, and he can find passing lanes like any good cornerback.  Ogletree is built like a machine at 6’3” and 237 pounds.  The combination of size and speed makes him an ideal candidate to build a defense around at the next level.

Final Projection:

Ogletree stood out enough where he stands to be the first middle linebacker off the board if he ends up grading higher than Manti Te’o.  He has had some injury problems in his past and that may be a red flag for some clubs moving forward.  He may not be quite as dominant of a player as Patrick Willis, but if he can be anything like a bigger version of London Fletcher then he is on a good trajectory.  He is a mid to late first round talent.
