DeAndre Hopkins NFL Draft Profile

Clemson College Football DeAndre Hopkins

DeAndre Hopkins, Junior, Wide Receiver, Clemson

Overview:

Hopkins came on super strong in his junior season.  Paired with Sammy Watkins, Hopkins’ production was incredible.  He was ninth in the country in receiving yards per game.  He finished with 1,214 yards and 16 touchdowns in one of the most potent offenses in the country.  His speed on the outside makes him tough to cover, especially when an equally fast receiver finds a home opposite him.  More impressive, he had only 69 catches and produced those numbers.  Sixty-nine catches is not a low number, but when almost a quarter of your grabs are for touchdowns, you are doing something right.

Final Projection:

Hopkins is a solid 6’1”.  While that is not the biggest receiver out there, that is a good size heading into the draft.  His speed will be very enticing to scouts.  More than anything, he makes plays.  It remains to be seen if he will forego his senior season to move onto the next level.  His stock is pretty high.  If he chooses to leave, he will probably be selected somewhere in the second or third round.
