Ryan Finley MLS Draft Player Profile

Ryan Finley, Senior, Forward, Notre Dame

Overview:

Prior to being at Notre Dame, Ryan Finley, spent his first two collegiate seasons leading Duke in goals in 2009 and 2010, netting 11 goals in ’09 as a freshmen and leading not just Duke but also the ACC in ’10 with 17 goals.  Finley finished his 2009 season with 27 points, starting in all 21 matches for Duke and receiving multiple awards including ACC All-Freshmen.  In 2010, Finley again proved his worth finishing out the season with 37 points throughout 18 matches, starting in 17 of them.  He also tallied three hat-tricks for a school record and ranks first among all NCAA Division 1 players for goals per game (0.94), second nationally in points per game, fifth in total goals, and sixth in total points.

In 2011 Finley transferred to Notre Dame where he led the Irish with seven goals and 16 points.  Finley played in 17 of 18 games, taking 27 shots on goal.

Final Projection:

With Finley’s career 35 goals and 80 points over three seasons, he is sure to attract the eyes of the pro recruits going into his senior season at Notre Dame. If Finley can pull off a repeat of his 2010 season he will be at the top of the MLS draft in 2013.
