Kevin Durr MLS Draft Profile

Kevin Durr MLS Draft Player Profile

Kevin Durr, Senior, Midfield, Air Force

Overview:

Kevin Durr wasted little time making an impact at Air Force. The 6-0 midfielder was the only freshman to start all 17 games in 2009. He scored three goals and added two assists that season. By 2010 he was garnering All-Conference accolades and the Falcons not only relied on him to create goal scoring opportunities, but finish some on his own. He ended up leading the team with four goals and again had two assists.

By 2011, Durr was still taking a lot of shots, but he also had some teammates who could do some scoring. As a result, Durr did take 63 shots, 20 more than anybody else on the team, but he also tallied ten assists. Of those 63 shots, five found their way to the back of the net, but it is the number of assists that makes Durr a possible draft pick.

Final Projection:

Durr will always take shots and he can put quite a few on target from long range. But that is just one dynamic to his game. Durr proved in 2011 that he can be a more traditional midfielder and set up the scorers up front. If he does that again in 2012, Durr will be an intriguing option at the next level.
