Brandon Weeden NFL Draft Profile

Oklahoma State Brandon Weeden NFL Draft Profile

Brandon Weeden, Senior, Quarterback, Oklahoma State

Overview:

Weeden had a prolific collegiate career that ended in an epic shootout victory over Stanford in the 2012 Fiesta Bowl. Weeden was well known not only because of his eye popping stats, but also his age (28).  In his final college season Weeden compiled a career high 4,727 yards through the air and completed a razor sharp 72.3 percent of his 564 passing attempts.  He also threw for an impressive 37 touchdowns to just 13 interceptions. This season marked his second straight impressive campaign, putting him on the radar for many NFL teams.

Final Projection:

If Weeden was your typical senior he would likely be considered in the first round. However at age 28 his stock dips a little bit. But his production in college and his awareness cannot be ignored. He is a great leader and competitor, whose maturity may help him be more successful than your typical rookie. Weeden will likely wind up a second round pick, but could slip if teams are scared away because of his age.
