Stephen Hill NFL Draft Profile

Georgia Tech Stephen Hill NFL Draft Profile

Stephen Hill, Junior, Wide Receiver, Georgia Tech

Overview:

Stephen Hill turned heads during the NFL combine with his blazing speed and gigantic stature. Standing six foot four and weighing in at a chiseled 215 pounds, Hill ran the forty yard dash in a lighting fast 4.36 seconds. He also possesses great strength and excels as a run blocker. It was not uncommon to see a defensive back on the ground when Hill was done blocking him during his collegiate years. While playing for the heavy run oriented Georgia Tech offense, Hill managed to snag 28 passes, totaling 820 yards and scoring five times.

Bottom Line:

Hill played in a run heavy offense in college, which does hurt his stock a little bit in the draft because he is still a very raw prospect and does not have much experience running a variety of routes. However, Hill has off the chart speed and a tremendous amount of upside. He is probably the best blocking receiver in this year’s crop of wide outs as well, which could make him a great fit for a team that loves to run the ball but needs a threat at the receiver position. Hill has all the tools to be an excellent player at the next level and, thanks to his high ceiling, could wind up in the first round.  At the very latest Hill should hear his name called during the top half of the second round.
