Overview:
Joey Gallo is an intriguing young prospect. He has a great major league body and projects well as a corner infielder or a pitcher. As a pitcher he has good velocity with a fastball that sits in the low 90’s. He also throws a change with excellent late breaking movement. He mixes in a good curve as well. As a hitter he has explosive power and drives the ball well. As a left handed power hitter he could have a bright future at first or third. He has a good glove and seems comfortable and natural in the field.
Final Projection:
Gallo is an excellent young prospect. It is hard to project him in the draft because teams could be split as to what position they want him to play. Either way he is a sure fire first round pick and has a bright future as either a powerful right handed pitcher or a left handed slugger.
