Another week of women’s college basketball delivered standout individual performances across the country, highlighted by elite scoring efforts, impactful defense, and efficient all-around play. This week’s honorees showcased consistency, production, and poise in key matchups.
Freshman of the Week
Gabby Jackson #21 – North Alabama
Freshman | 6’1” | Kansas City, Mo.
Gabby Jackson put together an impressive two-game stretch for North Alabama, producing efficiently on both ends of the floor while logging heavy minutes.
In a narrow 80–78 loss to Eastern Kentucky on Thursday, Jackson scored 21 points while adding seven rebounds and six assists. She shot an efficient 9-for-13 from the field and connected on three of her four attempts from beyond the arc, contributing across multiple facets of the game in 36 minutes.
She followed that performance with a double-double in a 67–52 win over Bellarmine on Saturday, posting 13 points and 12 rebounds in just 28 minutes. Jackson also recorded three steals and finished the game without committing a turnover, highlighting her composure and defensive activity.
Across the two contests, Jackson totaled 34 points, 19 rebounds, eight assists, and five steals, while shooting 56.5% from the floor and 57.1% from three-point range, making her a well-deserving Freshman of the Week selection.
Sixth Player of the Week
Tess Heal #34 – Kansas State
Senior | 5’10” | Melbourne, VIC
Tess Heal delivered an explosive scoring week for Kansas State, providing high-volume offense with remarkable efficiency in two games.
Heal poured in 31 points in a 71–62 road win at Houston on Wednesday, shooting 9-of-16 from the field and knocking down 11 of her 12 free-throw attempts. She also contributed five rebounds, two steals, and a block in 29 minutes of action.
She followed that with another strong outing against Utah, finishing with 25 points while shooting an outstanding 11-of-12 from the floor. Heal added a steal and assist in the contest, continuing her efficient scoring stretch.
For the week, Heal averaged 28.0 points per game, totaling 56 points while shooting 71.4% from the field and 85.7% from the free-throw line, providing consistent offensive production off the bench.
Defensive Player of the Week
Brianna Turnage #0 – Georgia Tech
Senior | 6’1” | Atlanta, Ga.
Brianna Turnage anchored Georgia Tech’s defense with dominant rebounding and disruptive play over two tightly contested games.
Against Virginia on Thursday, Turnage played all 40 minutes and recorded seven rebounds, five steals, and two blocks, consistently impacting possessions on the defensive end.
She followed that performance with a standout effort versus Clemson on Sunday, pulling down 18 rebounds, including 15 defensive boards, while adding two steals and three blocks in 39 minutes during a 58–55 victory.
Across the week, Turnage totaled 25 rebounds, seven steals, and five blocks, demonstrating elite defensive presence and endurance while playing nearly every minute.
Offensive Player of the Week & Player of the Week
Maggie Doogan #44 – Richmond
Senior | 6’2” | Broomall, Pa.
Maggie Doogan delivered one of the most productive offensive performances of the season in Richmond’s triple-overtime win over Davidson.
Doogan scored 48 points in 53 minutes, shooting 17-of-28 from the field and connecting on eight of her 12 three-point attempts. She was perfect from the free-throw line and added 13 rebounds, two steals, and an assist in the 91–84 victory.
Her scoring total, efficiency, and ability to sustain production over extended minutes set her apart nationally this week, earning her both Offensive Player of the Week and Overall Player of the Week honors.
