It was not a good week for the teams from Illinois in the MVFC. Illinois State and Southern Illinois both lost at home and are both now sitting at 4-3 overall. The Redbirds lost in a shootout to Youngstown State, while the Salukis were crushed by North Dakota. The final score of 38-19 sounds a lot closer than it was. Southern Illinois was down 28-0 at the half and never really had a chance after that. Both teams are still in the playoffs. A bye might be asking a little too much at this point in the season, but a first-round home game is very much still in play.
