5/7 Softball Bracketology Breakdown

Last Four In: Georgia Tech, Iowa, Iowa State, Northwestern

First Four Out: Wisconsin, BYU, Coastal Carolina, San Diego State

Northwestern typically finds itself in the tournament, but they are on the edge this season after a poor performance in non-conference play that has damaged their RPI. However, they are the Last Team In after a series in which they took 2 of 3 against UCLA this past weekend. Wisconsin, BYU, Coastal Carolina, and San Diego State are the First Four Out, with Louisiana not far behind; another team typically found in the tournament is out this season as they rebuild with a new coach. Texas A&M retakes the top overall seed, and no one dropped out of the Top 16 or moved in. However, depending on conference tournament results, it is possible to see a couple of teams move in and out. Duke is the next team waiting for a spot to host.
