Big 12 Football Week 4 Breakdown
#7 Oklahoma State vs. #12 Texas A&M
Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon might be the best quarterback and wide receiver tandem in the nation. Weeden has passed for over 1100 yards and eight touchdowns, three to Blackmon, in three games. They may be the best passing team in the country. The Aggies have a more balanced attack and a solid defense. They are allowing just over ten points per game and have only had one three-and-out this season.
Predicted Winner: Oklahoma State
#2 Oklahoma vs. Missouri
Landry Jones and the Oklahoma Sooners vividly remember what happened last time they played Missouri. In what may been the game of the year last season, Oklahoma left their perfect record and National Championship hopes in Colombia, Missouri. They’ll make sure to bring their A-game this time around. But Henry Josey knows how to run the ball for the Tigers. Quarterback James Franklin is really maturing into a solid starter. Unfortunately, I don’t think Missouri has enough talent to handle the Sooners this year and will end up being the best 2-2 team in the country.
Predicted Winner: Oklahoma
#24 Baylor vs. Rice
Robert Griffin III is putting up great numbers thus far. Baylor’s offense has a lot of good role-playing receivers and Rice will have a hard time defending their attack. An impressive win over Purdue still won’t push the Owls past the Bears.
Predicted Winner: Baylor
Texas Tech vs. Nevada
Mike Ball and Stefphon Jefferson are running well in the backfield for Nevada. Unfortunately, the Wolf Pack’s defense is giving up over 40 points per game. Texas Tech will tear apart a bad defense and put up a lot of points. Red Raider quarterback Seth Doege has thrown eight touchdowns this season and will probably exceed ten after this game.
Predicted Winner: Texas Tech
Kansas State vs. Miami (Fl)
Don’t be fooled by Kansas State’s defense. They may be giving up just over a field goal per game, but they have yet to play a respectable team. Jacory Harris looked very good last week against Ohio State and that will continue this week against the Wildcats.
