Tirrell Rennie Named FCS Football Player of the Week
Tirrell Rennie did not just put up good numbers when his Northern Iowa squad hit the road to face a tough Stephen F. Austin squad. The Panthers quarterback did run 19 times for 126 yards and two scores and added 151 passing yards. However, it was his clutch play in the fourth quarter that earned him the College Sports Madness FCS Player of the Week award. SFA got within four points midway through the final stanza, but Rennie orchestrated a long five and a half minute drive that he capped off with a nine yard touchdown run. That put UNI up 11 points and cemented the win for the Panthers and makes them the team to beat when MVFC play starts in a couple of weeks.
