Steele Jantz Awarded The Madness Football Player of the Week Honors

Most Iowa State players were not even on the Cyclones the last time they lifted the CyHawk Trophy back in 2007. Iowa had dominated the series for the last three years and ISU never came close to beating Iowa. Steele Jantz put an end to that and led Iowa State to a victory over the Hawkeyes and not only got to lift the temporary new CyHawk Trophy, but also earned The Madness Player of the Week award. By the numbers, Jantz did most of his damage through the air in the triple-overtime thriller, but his ability to avoid pressure and occasionally scramble made a huge difference in the game. The Iowa defense could not catch Jantz and he threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns. More importantly, he was a clutch performer down the stretch and in overtime to lead his team to victory.
