Who will prevail in the 2023 NCAA Conference?

With just over a month having passed since the Kansas Jayhawks clinched the 2022 NCAA Conference Championship, attention begins to turn to which sides could well be in the mix to go all the way in 2023.

Bill Self led the Jayhawks to a historic win in New Orleans last month, with the Jayhawks doing most of the running in the regular season and justifying their top seed status by getting over the line when it mattered most.

Once again in 2023, there will be plenty of off season recruiting and draft picks that could shape the season ahead, with plenty of colleges looking to have their house in order before the season begins.

Whilst March Madness always defines the campaign ahead, it will seem a long way off for all concerned in the NCAA currently and the priority within every college at this point is sure to be maximising both the playing potential and performance capacity as the season looms large.

Trying to back a winner so far in advance of the season is no easy task, with plenty of variables potentially impacting upon how the upcoming campaign will pan out.

Here is a rundown of some of the most fancied teams to clinch the NCAA Conference title in 2023.

In a remarkable season across the board last year, the Kentucky Wildcats were perhaps the team that disappointed the most in the play-offs.

Dominating in the SEC tournament before ultimately coming up short in the final, proved to be somewhat of a false dawn as the Wildcats crashed out in the first round of the play-offs to Saint Peter’s.

However, they will have taken plenty of positives from the season and with plenty of time to get ready for the upcoming campaign, the Kentucky Wildcats are the favourites to go all the way in 2023 at +1200 with the recent betting promotions by American sports books.

Finishing as runners up in the previous season can sometimes provide the perfect motivation and that is exactly what the North Carolina Tar Heels will be looking for next term.

Seeded 8th coming into the play-offs, the Tar Heels had plenty of work to do but saw off the likes of Saint Peters, Baylor Bears, UCLA, and Duke to reach the final – where they were only just edged out by the Kansas Jayhawks.

They have a young side that will only be better for the experience, and they could be one of the toughest sides to beat next season at +1300.

Going back to back is never an easy feat, especially in a competition as fierce and complex as the NCAA but few sides have the quality the Kansas Jayhawks possess at this level.

Time and time again, the Jayhawks delivered in 2022 and few would bet against them improving and developing moving into 2023.

They will once again be the side to beat and should top the seedings, but they are certainly proven at this level, and they represent good ante-post value at +1400 to win the NCAA Championship again in 2023.

Few teams are as synonymous with success in the college game as the Duke Blue Devils and they are sure to be in the mix again next term.

Seeing their run end in the semi-finals in 2022 will of course be a disappointment for all associated with the institution but they will be out for better in 2023 and they look a decent punt to be in the mix at +1600 next season.
