1/5 Men's Basketball Bracketology Breakdown

Last Eight In: Minnesota, Mississippi State, Marquette, Saint Mary’s, San Francisco, Louisville, UCF, St. Bonaventure

First Eight Out: Memphis, Michigan, Clemson, Northwestern, Utah State, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Virginia

Conference play is ramping up and the number of teams on or around the bubble will begin to dwindle as we move along. The ACC has almost half the conference on the bubble as just Duke and UNC are safely in the field. The Big Ten also has several teams on the cusp with Michigan and Maryland underperforming while Northwestern and Minnesota overachieve. The Pac-12 has three teams in the top-3 seed lines, but no other teams in the field or on the bubble. These power conferences struggling to find tournament teams will help the smaller schools such as San Francisco and St. Bonaventure remain on the right side of the bubble.
