Best College Football Bets in Week 2

Football is back and whether you’re into college football or NFL betting, there are plenty of opportunities to profit this weekend. The marquee game for the weekend is likely (12) Oregon at (3) Ohio State. The Buckeyes are favored by 14.5, which is a favorable margin for them. The Ducks are coming off a narrow seven-point victory over Fresno State and now must travel across the country to play an early game against a top 3 team in the nation. Ohio State did have their hands full with Minnesota last week, and the Gophers also have a favorable line as they’re favored by just 18.5 over a Miami (OH) team that lost by 35 to Cincinnati last weekend.

Another strong play is Virginia Tech coming off their upset of former top ten team North Carolina. The Hokies are only favored by 20 against Middle Tennessee State on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Tar Heels should come out fired up against Georgia State after suffering an opening week loss. North Carolina is favored by just 25.5 in that matchup despite Georgia State losing by 33 to Army last week. Notre Dame had a too close for comfort win over Florida State last week, which drove their line against Toledo down to just 17 points. Notre Dame should be expected to come out especially motivated after their near collapse against the Seminoles. Georgia moved up to second in the nation after shutting down Clemson and now are favored by just 24 points over UAB. Texas is coming off a 20-point win over a then-ranked Louisiana-Lafayette team, but is favored by just seven over Arkansas who struggled with Rice for much of last week.

There are also some underdog picks worth looking into this weekend. BYU is an intriguing pick at +7 against in-state rival Utah. The Utes are ranked 21st, but BYU is at home and coming off a road win against Arizona. BYU has lost nine straight to Utah, so there could be some extra motivation to prevent that streak from reaching double-digits. Mississippi State struggled against Louisiana Tech, but turned on the firepower to come back from down 20 in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs are now home underdogs against N.C. State, though they could continue riding that momentum into this week and come away with the victory. Lastly, the lone top ten matchup of the week is Iowa at Iowa State. Iowa State is favored by 4.5, though they only beat Northern Iowa by six last week. Meanwhile, the Hawkeyes dominated a ranked Indiana team 34-6. The Hawkeyes getting 4.5 points looks like it could be the steal of the week.
