Alabama has had some success during Coach Brad Bohannon’s two seasons with the Crimson Tide, but those two seasons have resulted in a 15-45 record in SEC play. As always, the SEC is extremely difficult, but Alabama needs to win more conference games if they are going to reach the NCAA Tournament. But this is Coach Bohannon’s third year in Tuscaloosa and now is the time for the hard work over the last two years to pay off for this group.

Projection:
Many of the key pitchers from last year are gone, but there is some young talent on this team that should be ready to step up. Sophomores Chase Lee and Tyler Ras have gotten their feet wet and now must step into larger roles. If the pitching staff is not ready to replace some of those departed players, it could be a very tough year for Alabama. The offense has an All-Conference caliber star in Tyler Gentry. The junior outfielder hit .310 with 13 homeruns and 42 RBIs in 2019. Like on the mound, there are quite a few sophomores who need to continue to improve at the plate. Drew Williamson was the most productive last year, hitting .290 and earning 53 starts. T.J. Reeves needs to be more consistent, but the outfielder belted nine homeruns as a freshman and should team up with Gentry to provide Alabama with a couple very good power hitters. Alabama has a lot to prove, but Coach Bohannon is getting his type of players into the program now. If the pieces come together, Alabama will make a small push up the SEC standings. And they do not have to win too many more SEC games to reach the NCAA Tournament.
