College Basketball DFS Advice, 11/12

Saturday night brings us a four-game slate with a Big Ten feel to it. Purdue, Minnesota and Maryland are all in action, with the Boilermakers and Golden Gophers taking on Big 12 rivals Texas and Oklahoma, respectively. All eight teams are playing their second game of the season and that makes it a bit easier to see what all of the coaches have in mind when it comes to player rotation.

Studs
Naji Marshall, F, Xavier (DK: 7,500, FD: 7,700)
Naji Marshall has started off the season with a couple very productive games. Against Siena in the most recent contest, the forward tallied 20 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Marshall has not found his outside shot yet, hitting just 1 of his 11 three-point attempts, but Marshall is still scoring. Xavier faces their toughest contest to date though on Tuesday when Missouri comes to the Cintas Center.

Payton Pritchard, G, Oregon (DK: 9,200, FD: 8,600)
Oregon and Memphis should be a high scoring contest. You will have to pay up for it though, especially on DraftKings. Payton Pritchard has been carrying this Oregon team though. Pritchard has tallied 43 points, 14 assists and 13 rebounds through two games and he could score even more in what should be a competitive, high scoring affair.

Tres Tinkle, F, Oregon State (DK: 9,900, FD: N/A)
It is tough to stomach this salary, but Tres Tinkle is an absolute fantasy monster. He does everything for Oregon State and through two games has averaged 27.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.0 blocks per game. Tinkle has already proven last season that he can keep those numbers up against any competition. He will still be tough to fit into most lineups though.

Bargains
Mark Smith, G, Missouri (DK: 4,900, FD: 5,300)
Mark Smith was held scoreless against Incarnate Word, but followed it up with a game high 19 points against Northern Kentucky. Smith took a team high ten shots against the Norse and added 6 rebounds. Smith is a bit of a boom or bust play against Xavier, but he will get plenty of minutes and could be worth the risk.

J’Von McCormick, G, Auburn (DK: 5,400, FD: N/A)
Against a good Davidson team, J’Von McCormick tallied 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Auburn will share their points and there are some other value options on the Tigers in this game. However, McCormick currently leads the team in shots taken and will add some peripheral  points as well. In a game that should be relatively high scoring, at least compared to the others on the slate, McCormick is a solid play.

Jordan Tucker, G, Butler (DK: 5,200, FD: 5,100)
Jordan Tucker was suspended for the first game of the season and then stepped into a starting job and scored 16 points against New Orleans. Tucker went 6-of-14 from the floor and 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. Tucker is point dependent and the Minnesota defense has been pretty good against the three-point shot, but Butler has quite a few weapons and Tucker should get some open looks. If he is knocking down those looks, Tucker is a very good cheap option.

Avoid
James Wiseman, F, Memphis (DK: 9,500, FD: 8,800)
James Wiseman has played great against South Carolina State and Illinois-Chicago. This game will be his first road trip and his first game against a team that he will not be able to physically dominate quite as easily. Wiseman will continue to put up plenty of fantasy points, but it may be a good idea to avoid him at this price until we see what he can do against the tougher teams on the schedule.
