College Basketball DFS Advice, 11/8

After a Thursday night slate of games to forget, Friday night is back with a nine-game slate on DraftKings and six games on FanDuel. Blue bloods Kentucky, Duke, Kansas and North Carolina are all in action along with intriguing matchups between Baylor/Washington and Arizona State/Colorado.

Studs:
Cole Anthony (DK: 9,300, FD: 7,000)
Cole Anthony made his presence felt in his first career NCAA game. Anthony scored 34 points against Notre Dame while adding in 11 rebounds, five assists and six 3-pointers. Anthony could see reduced minutes against a lesser opponent, but his ability to go off any night makes him worth a spot in your lineup, especially on FanDuel where he is still priced down.

Tyrese Maxey (DK: 7,000, FD: 7,300)
While Wednesday night belonged to Anthony, Tuesday night was all about Tyrese Maxey. Maxey stepped into Madison Square Garden against the number one team in the country and was the best player on the floor. Against Eastern Kentucky, Kentucky could try to get their other freshmen more involved, but Maxey is the safest bet to produce as we’ve already seen him do it on a much bigger stage.

Bargains:
Matthew Hurt (DK: 5,400, FD: 5,400)
Duke’s offense had a bit of trouble getting going on opening night, which is understandable with a lineup of mostly freshmen. Matthew Hurt is one of the more prolific of those freshmen, and he showed flashes of his talent shooting 3-7 from 3-point range. At home against Colorado State, Hurt could be in line for a bigger scoring output and is priced cheap on both sites.

Nico Carvacho (DK: 6,400, FD: 7,600)
Within that same Colorado State/Duke game, Nico Carvacho of the Rams is a quality play though FanDuel is more aggressive with his pricing. Carvacho averaged 16.1 points, 12.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists last season. Duke’s Tre Jones can shut down opposing guards, so the 6-foot-11 Carvacho could be the emphasis of the offense against the inexperienced Duke frontcourt.

Avoid:
Nate Sestina (DK: 7,600, FD: 5,800)
Nate Sestina is the most experienced player for Kentucky, and he played a big role in their win against Michigan State. However, Sestina took just four shots from the floor, and against Eastern Kentucky the Wildcats will likely go deep into their bench. Sestina is priced more fairly on FanDuel, but his upside likely isn’t worth the investment.

Udoka Azubuike (DK: 7,200, FD: 6,900)
Kansas played sloppy basketball Tuesday night against Duke. Azubuike was a victim of the guards’ struggles with turnovers, as he only attempted four field goals on the night. Azubuike is a rebound machine, so he still gives a stable floor in DFS, but his scoring upside could be limited. Now in a game against UNC Greensboro, Azubuike could play limited minutes as Kansas should be cautious with his health.
