Speaking of firsts, Gardner-Webb claimed the Big South tournament title and are making their NCAA Tournament debut. In the ASUN, Liberty pulled off a mild upset over Lipscomb and are heading to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since joining the conference. They last appeared in 2013 as a member of the Big South.
