Again this week the road claimed a few victims. Ohio State lost at Rutgers, South Carolina upset Mississippi State and Baylor took down Iowa State. The big winner this week though was Mississippi. They defeated #11 Auburn at home by a score of 82-67 on Wednesday night. Then Ole Miss went to rival Mississippi State, who was ranked 14th at the time, and slipped past the Bulldogs 81-77. That puts the Rebels at 13-2 overall and 3-0 in SEC play. This week Mississippi hosts LSU and Arkansas and could very well move to 5-0 in conference action. With Tennessee and Kentucky only on the slate once, and both at home, this is a Bulldogs team that cannot just compete for a spot in the NCAA Tournament, but possibly even stay within striking distance of a conference title heading into March.
