Favorites for the 2018-19 NCAA College Football season

A Detailed Look at the Favorites for the 2018-19 NCAA College Football season.

With August fast approaching its time to shift our attention to NCAA College Football. The season brings with it an uncertain sense of belief as it impossible to accurately predict which games will be most impactful. In 2017 Alabama won its fifth championship in the last decade. The Crimson Tide had to push the game to overtime in order to win a closely contested game against their SEC rivals Georgia. The game ended 26-23.

University of Central Florida football team (Knights) have been the dominant force in the past five seasons. They have been crowned champions three times by the American Athletic Conference. These victories include a three-way tie in 2014 before there was a championship game. This makes the UCF Knights a favorite with +140 which is complemented by their perfect 13-0 season in 2017.

A look at some of the AAC betting favorites

The UCF KNIGHTS

Last year this outfit had the best-ranked offense in the NCAA. The team averaged forty-eight points per game. Their sophomore quarterback set new school records for yards and passing touchdowns. He registered four thousand and thirty-seven yards and a staggering thirty-seven passing touchdowns. Milton McKenzie also showed his prowess when it comes to scrambling as the quarterback had nine games in which he rushed for 20 or more yards. Against Auburn, the young quarterback registered a hundred and sixteen yards in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. McKenzie also boasts of an impressive streak of seven games in which he has scored a rushing touchdown. If he can live up to his potential this year, the Knights are a shoo-in for the College Football Playoff. His fellow teammate in the backfield, Adrian Killins Jr also posted some impressive stats in 2017. He rushed for 700+ yards on 100+ carries. This stat line was then reinforced by ten touchdowns. The expectations for UCF are high for the 2018-19 season as their offense is still intact. NCAA Football Odds also seem to echo this as many bookmakers have them down as a favorite.

Memphis

This team trailed UCF for points per game in the NCAA. They averaged forty-six points per game and this year the team will have to rely on its offensive line being on form. The Tigers will start the new season without senior quarterback Riley Ferguson and wide receiver Anthony Miller. The pair was drafted in the 2018 NFL draft. In 2017, Ferguson was the third-best quarterback in the NCAA. He posted four thousand two hundred and fifty-seven passing yards that included an impressive thirty-eight touchdowns. His wide receiver amassed one thousand four hundred and sixty-two receiving yards to go with eighteen touchdowns. Although the team poses a lot of questions, they are rated at +175 to claim the AAC title.

The team will have part of its core as they have five returning offensive linemen that junior Darrell Henderson worked well with. Darrel averaged 8+ yards per carry. He finished the 2017 season with one thousand one hundred and fifty-four yards paired with nine touchdowns.

These two teams form a force to reckon with in the NCAA Football season.
