Watch out for Stanford. After getting swept by Oregon State on the first weekend of April, the Cardinal have gone 13-3 and have won nine straight, which includes sweeps of Oregon and Arizona. The win streak has helped Stanford climb up to second in the Pac-12 standings and into the mix to host a regional. The sweep over Arizona has Stanford sitting at 12 in the RPI with a very favorable schedule to follow. Three of the Cardinal’s remaining series are on the road, but two of them are at Arizona State and Washington State who are currently at the bottom of the Pac-12 standings, and the other is at bay area rival California who Stanford has already beaten twice this season. Stanford has played a tough schedule this year and has three wins over Texas as well as wins over Cal State Fullerton and Long Beach State. If Stanford can navigate their remaining schedule and win their remaining Pac-12 series, look for Stanford to be hosting a regional in June.
