3/9 Men's Basketball Bracketology Breakdown

Last Eight In: Vanderbilt, Rhode Island, USC, Syracuse, Providence, Kansas State, Wake Forest, Marquette
First Eight Out: Xavier, Illinois State, California, Houston, Utah, Iowa, Mississippi, Illinois
The Big East conference tournament got off to an intense start. After St. John’s snuck past Georgetown, Xavier got a massive victory over DePaul. Beating DePaul is nothing special, but it does move the Musketeers to 20-12 on the season and a 20 win team in a major conference is difficult to leave out of the NCAA Tournament. Xavier will play Butler on Thursday night and a win there and Musketeers are almost certainly in the tournament. A loss, and the Musketeers will be sweating it out on Selection Sunday.
