Texas A&M had a good season last year, finishing with 39 wins and earning a trip to the postseason. It ended early for the team though when they were beaten in the Lafayette, Louisiana regional by host Ragin’ Cajuns. The team also had a rough time in their conference ending last season with a losing record. While the SEC is one of the top conferences in college softball, if you want to be champions you need to beat top teams on a regular basis. Longtime Aggies head coach Jo Evans has the coaching talents necessary to help the Aggies climb that SEC mountain.

Projection:
The team is hoping to improve on their play this year. While they do have some key player loses, they maintain the core of their pitching staff lead by Samantha Show and Trinity Harrington. Even though their pitching finished next to last in the SEC with a 3.86 ERA, Texas A&M hopes to use a formula of strong pitching along with a mix of power hitting and speed as a winning formula that can take them far this season. When you think of power hitting and home runs among SEC teams Auburn probably first pops into your mind, but last season Texas A&M was only three home runs behind them for the season lead with 86 compared to Auburn's 89. Look for Texas A&M to win their share of games this season and make another run in postseason play.
