Last Eight In: California, BYU, Rhode Island, George Washington, Wyoming, Indiana, Georgetown, St. John’s
First Eight Out: Baylor, Nebraska, North Carolina State, Minnesota, Temple, Xavier, Connecticut, Tulsa
The Big 12 has been interesting so far and there is still a long, long way to go. Right now it looks like seven teams have a great shot at an NCAA Tournament berth and that does not include TCU, who started 13-0, or Kansas State, who won in Norman on Saturday. So that basically leaves nine teams with hope (sorry Texas Tech). Seven is a feasible number of NCAA Tournament teams, but six is much more likely as the conference continues to beat up on itself. For now, we have Baylor on the outside looking in. The Bears did grab a big road win at TCU on Saturday and a couple more road wins could be enough to get Baylor into the big dance. However, that is much easier said than done.
