Cotton Bowl Classic: No. 8 Michigan State vs. No. 5 Baylor

The Spartans finished up the regular season with a record of 10-2 and went 7-1 in Big Ten play. The Spartans will be appearing for the first time in the Cotton Bowl. They have recorded double-digit win seasons four of the last five years.

This season the Bears will make their first appearance in the Classic since their 1981 appearance against Alabama. Both the Spartans and Bears have much to be proud of this season. The bears have ranked among the top 15 over the last three years, while opening the 2014 season as balanced as ever. The Spartans have finished up as the runners up in the Big Ten East Division.

Both the Spartans and Bears need to be awarded for the incredible season and for putting up a great show. The Bears have entered in the Classic with highest ranking of number five in final College Football Playoff rankings. Spartan’s coach Mark Dantonio will be showing up in his eighth bowl appearance for MSU. But the Spartans defense are going to face the nation’s most explosive offense.

The Spartan’s have players like Tony Lippet, who was recently recognized as the best receiver in Big Ten with 12 touchdowns and 1124 receiving yards. Baylor has on average 40 points and more than 580 yards per game. Baylor boasts quarterback Bryce Petty, who has thrown over 3,300 yards, and Shock Linwood, who has rushed for more than 1,200 yards with score of 16 touchdowns.

Baylor can make its big statement in this game against a quality Big Ten opponent. The Bears have a top ten passing attacks in country led by Petty. The 2015 Cotton Bowl Classic will be broadcasted on ESPN when No. 5 Baylor football will play against No. 8 Michigan State in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl on New Year’s Day. The game will pin two teams who missed on College Football Playoff.
