Michigan College Softball Amanda Chidester 2012 NPF Draft Profile

Amanda Chidester, Senior, Infield, Michigan

Michigan Team Page

Overview:

Amanda Chidester has been a superb utility player for Michigan. As a freshman she played at catcher, in the outfield and at second base. As a sophomore she spent most of her time at second base. In 2011 she moved to third base and spent some more time behind the plate. Wherever she plays, Chidester is a big-time hitter and any team can find a place for her defensively. Chidester has been steadily improving during her career in Ann Arbor. She is hitting with more power and has much more discipline at the plate.

Final Projection:

It is that discipline that helps move Chidester up the draft rankings. She has the power to hit plenty of homeruns, but with experience she has watched her strikeout total decrease and her walk total increase. Chidester is willing and able to wait for her pitch and if it comes, take advantage of the opportunity and drive in some runs.
