Live and Breathe Wichita State

Live and Breathe Wichita State

One can now take the idiom live and breathe to the next level when it comes to being a fan of Wichita State. In conjunction with Klausmeyer Construction, the Wichita State Athletics department has built a home in Andover, Kansas to benefit the Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization. That covers the living part…you are on your own to concoct some way to breathe wheat.

The newly constructed “Shocker House II” is now finished and for sale for $145,495. I am not too familiar with the area, as when I drive through Kansas I tend to avoid I-35 and not pay attention to anything. But the location, despite the trouble with Google Maps since it is a new construction area, appears to be pretty nice. It’s close to the highway and not far from Main Street, which appears to not have much going on. More importantly, it is a quick trip down 21st Street to Charles Koch Arena and that’s all that matters to Shockers.

The house itself is 1,212 square feet with three bedrooms and two baths. It also has a full basement and a three car garage. The kitchen opens up nicely into the living area so you can serve your guests yellow and black Kool-Aid. Once done drinking your Kool-Aid, you can go out to the patio and shock some wheat on your currently brown dirt lawn. It doesn’t appear to have any acreage, so the wheat growing may be limited. That’s a downer for me. What’s the point of a Shocker House if there isn’t wheat?

The best part of the house, apparently, is the master bedroom. It has a nice jetted tub that overlooks your neighbors yet to be built house, or possibly your wheat. The jetted tub is nice though. That is where you can relax, watch the game (there’s a nice spot for a flat screen) and think, do, move and shock. To support the cause and buy a house in some suburb of Wichita, go here.
