Colorado State Takes Home an Emmy

Most reality shows do not deserve to win an Emmy, but the competition is pretty slim anyway these days. Colorado State was part of an Emmy winning program recently as named by the Heartland Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Science. I’m sure the Heartland Chapter rolls out the red carpet for all the big stars.

The Mtn., the Mountain West Conference’s television network, won five Emmy’s on the night, but the big one, with all due respect to editors and producers, was in the category of Program Series – Sports. “Season Pass: Colorado State men’s Basketball – Episode 1” took the big prize. The third season of the show followed Coach Tim Miles and his Rams as they reached the NIT during the 2010-2011 campaign. For sports fans who cannot get enough reality television, this is Emmy Award winning stuff right here. They beat out “Rockies All Access: Todd Helton” and “FSN Rocky Mountain: Pre-Game Report: Cooperstown.” I missed those baseball things, but I’m sure it was solid competition.

And what would reality TV be without more junk that was not good enough to make the show in the first place. You can read all about it here.
