T.J. Warren NBA Draft Profile

T.J. Warren NBA Draft Profile

T.J. Warren, Sophomore, Small Forward, North Carolina State

Overview:

T.J. Warren, a highly touted recruit two years ago, is the best player on the floor for North Carolina State.  In many games, he is the best player on the floor period.  Warren suffered an ankle injury earlier in the season, and the team’s pace and execution was a bit off in his absence.  The offense revolves around him.  He is second in the ACC in field goal percentage at a whopping 51.7 percent.  He is an adept shooter who can find the basket in a hurry.

He is making his case for ACC Player of the Year honors.  Warren leads the conference in points per game (22.6) and field goal attempts.  He has embraced his role as the go-to player.  He is quick with a knack for finding room to shoot and score.  He is a fearless player which indicates he will be a tough wing player at the next level.

FINAL PROJECTION:

Warren is great right now, but it remains to be seen just how good he will be in the NBA.  He has to polish his game – much like the rest of the NBA prospects – but he has proven he takes high-percentage shots.  The long story short is that he puts the ball in the hoop.  Quick offense is an asset at the pro level.  He could become valuable if he keeps his scoring numbers up through the postseason tournaments.  He should find himself drafted in the middle of the first round.
