Lorenzo Brown NBA Draft Profile

Lorenzo Brown NBA Draft Profile

Lorenzo Brown, Junior, Point Guard, North Carolina State

Overview:

Only one thing could put a damper on an otherwise great start to Lorenzo Brown’s college career: surgery. He went in for a procedure on his knee and NC State has currently released no timetable for his set return. Although this can obviously not be considered good news, there is reason to believe he could be ready to roll by the start of the season. So, with that out of the way, Brown should be set to improve on an already fantastic resume. His numbers improved across the board from his freshman to his sophomore year. His shooting, overall and from three, went up. His scoring increased; as did his steals, rebounding and assists. He turned the ball over a little too much but still had a nearly 2 to 1 assist to turnover ratio.

Final Projection:

Lorenzo Brown’s tremendous point guard size (6’5”) and his ability to improve his game so much from one year to the next make him intriguing for the NBA draft. The overall jump that has been made by North Carolina State also helps both put a spotlight on Brown as well as allows him to play with better teammates and see just what he is capable of. Although there are a lot of good point guards who may enter the 2013 NBA Draft, including former NC State transfer Ryan Harrow, Brown has a chance to make himself into a first round talent at the position.
