Jelani Jenkins NFL Draft Profile

Jelani Jenkins NFL Draft Profile

Jelani Jenkins, Senior, LB, Florida

Overview:

Jelani Jenkins was a highly touted recruit from Maryland back in 2009. As a freshman he did not see the field much, but as a sophomore he came into the limelight. He recorded 76 total tackles, 4.5 of them for a loss, tallied two sacks, forced a fumble, swatted down a pass, and had an interception. He followed up his astounding sophomore campaign with an impressive junior season where he recorded 75 tackles, six of them for a loss, added two sacks, a forced fumbled and defended six passes.

Final Projection:

Jenkins has great size, instincts, and is a fantastic athlete. He is very fast, running track in high school, and had a forty yard dash time of a lighting quick 4.4 seconds. He has great ball skills and is very physical. He has a nose for the ball and uses his rare combination of size, speed, strength, and instincts to shed blocks and route himself on a crash course with the ball carrier. He has NFL size, speed, athletic ability, and talent. He should wind up being selected in the first round.
