Tanner Hawkinson NFL Draft Profile

2012 NFL Draft Profiles

Tanner Hawkinson, Junior, Offensive Tackle, Kansas

Kansas Team Page

Overview:

Tanner Hawkinson is a great athlete and possesses an outstanding work ethic. He came to Kansas as a tight end, was then moved to defensive line, and finally offensive tackle where he has excelled. He redshirted his first year, but in his second season he earned the starting job at left tackle and started every game. As a redshirt sophomore he started all of Kansas’s games at left tackle again, and again as a junior. His starting experience, size, and athleticism, makes him an attractive project for a team at tackle, or even possibly as a tight end.

Final Projection:

Hawkinson looks to be a late second or a third round pick. The team that selects him gets an athletic and hard working project. He has great size, and looks to have a frame that could pack on some muscle. He is not expected to make an immediate impact, but could make a spot start his rookie year, and develop into a starter as he progresses.
