Overview:

Lucas Giolito is a young and intriguing prospect. He has an intimidating 6’6” frame and has shown a very live arm. He throws in the mid to upper 90’s and has touched 98 mph. He boasts five pitches, which separates him for other young pitchers. His repertoire contains a four seam fastball, two seam fastball, curveball, slider, and circle change. In 2011 he dominated high school ball, starting 12 games and going nine and one, while posting a microscopic ERA of just 1.00. In his 12 starts he went the distance four times, battled through 70.1 innings, while giving up just 42 hits, one homerun, and surrendering 26 walks. He also fanned 78 batters.

Final Projection:

With a major league sized body and five developing pitches, Giolito is an excellent prospect. He throws a hard fastball and mixes his pitches well. He will continue to develop his pitches and his command, making him a top 5 selection. He has all the tools to be an ace of future.
