4/3 Softball Bracketology Breakdown

Last Four In: South Carolina, UCF, Marshall, Oregon State

First Four Out: Arkansas, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Boston College

It was an eventful week in the Southeastern Conference as Auburn and Florida wrapped up their series last Monday night where the Tigers salvaged the final game of the series 1-0. Then, both teams had a very quick turnaround with trips to Georgia and Arkansas and ended up picking up key road sweeps to solidify themselves as the two best teams in the SEC at this point. Oregon and Arizona are on a collision course to decide the Pac-12 championship. The pitching continues to separate them from the rest of the league as it has been ridiculously consistent all season long. Michigan is sitting at 6-0, along with Ohio State, in Big Ten play and those teams will meet next weekend in Columbus and Megan Betsa has thrown 48 straight scoreless innings and has struck out 87 batters in that time span. If Betsa can replicate anything close to this dominance the rest of the way, then the Wolverines will play their way back into the regional hosting conversation.  Florida State also continued its hot streak this weekend dominating Pittsburgh. The Seminoles now have not lost in their last 26 games and, looking at their upcoming schedule, it will not be easy, but it is highly possible that they run the table the rest of the way in their ACC schedule.
